Local residents have found evidence of his path, but officers scribbled down bits of information in a rush. 1) Either the forest ranger or the bloodied shirt were near mile marker 86.
2) The lady walking her dog (a schnauzer cross poodle, otherwise known as a schnoodle) didn't spot any shoe prints.
3) The victim's hair, the item found near mile marker 85, and the clues discovered by the hiker and the scout troop are four different pieces of evidence.
4) The mile marker where the scout troop made camp was one mile more than where the hiker found her piece of evidence.
5) The suspect abandoned his blood stained shirt near mile marker 82.
6) A cigarette butt in the suspect's favorite brand was found at the mile marker one mile less than where the strands of hair were found.
7) The murder weapon was found at mile marker 86. It was purchased earlier that day and still had a price sticker on the handle.
